Over the past 12 years, the University of Delaware's Marching Band has grown to be one of the most exciting and entertaining bands in the East. Providing the fuel for the band is the UD Drumline. The drumline consists of a large corps-sized battery (7-9 snares, 4-5 tenors, 6 bass, 7-9 cymbals) and a full front ensemble (10 percussion, bass guitar).
This site is provided for people who are interested in becoming members of the University of Delaware Drumline. The links above provide information on auditions, technique downloads, and bios for staff members. Auditions are held during the first two days of band camp: Friday, August 22nd and Saturday, August 23rd, 2008.
The percussion section also hosts two mini camps during the summer. The dates for these are July 13th and July 27th from 10 am to 5:30 pm. The mini camps are held at the university (Center for the Arts in Puglisi Orchestra Hall) and give incoming percussionists a chance to play on our instruments, learn our technical style and meet the staff. You will also receive show music and new exercises at these camps. If you can make it down for the day, we highly recommend it. This will greatly increase your chances of getting the position you want!
